Compare performance, not only brand names
Ask what specification the material meets, where it is used, how it will be installed and what warranty or documentation applies.
Keep an approved-equivalent rule
Where a BOQ permits equivalents, define the quality benchmark clearly so a substitution does not quietly reduce performance.
Coordinate materials across trades
Window sizes affect plastering; plumbing affects walls and slabs; electrical conduits affect finishes. Material choices should be coordinated before execution.
Document final selections
Keep a final schedule of approved brands, models, colours, tile series, sanitaryware and electrical accessories for maintenance and future replacement.
